First picnic of the summer!

First time swinging at the park for Nolan!

Had a little fever! but still looks so sweet in his Rock n Play, and Zipadee Zip!

Nolan is a happy baby with the cutest smile! He is the perfect addition to our family and Lucas constantly tells him they are going to be best friends forever (melts my heart!) He loves being talked to, held, and played with. He usually gets bored of being in the exercsaucer, bumbo, or laying on his back  or belly after 20 min! Then he will let us know with his strong lungs that its time to pick him up and move him!

His 4 month well baby check went great! I am still exclusively breast feeding Nolan - my goal with nursing was 4 months so I am happy I made it! Then I was just going to play it out from their and not worry so much about pumping when I am at home! He is right where he is supposed to be for weight and height, and our pediatrician mentioned he is so good with his head control he can start some rice cereal and gradually progress to baby food! And things have once in again changed in regards to feeding babies, now new studies suggest beginning solids at 4 months is beneficial to decrease risk of allergies, and we can mix baby food, or feed him carrots once night, squash the next without having to monitor for any reactions. We were also told we are able to give him foods like peanut butter, strawberries, honey, around 6 months vs prior research had said waiting till 1 year! Our MD also said he should really be able to get through the entire night without nursing (which hasn't been the case - usually its at least 2x I feed him in the middle of the night!) I think I have been nursing him to get him back to sleep quicker and so he won't wake his brother up more so then if he really was that hungry. Maybe giving him some cereal will help him go a little longer at night! So we shall see how that goes in the coming weeks!

From 3 months - 4 months Nolan was quite the busy baby! He officially celebrated his 1st Easter in Grand Forks and pretty much slept through the Entire Easter day! Ended up sleeping from 11:15- (all the way through Easter dinner )- all the way to 4:30 in his car seat! Must have been a tired boy from all the fun Easter activities that we did with family! We then drove home the next day after Easter and he slept the entire drive back to Hutchinson! The next day, I had to return to work and Nolan had his first official long day at day care - Little Lambs Christian Center. He will have the same teachers Lucas had when he was baby and they are awesome! They also have an awesome app where I can check in to see what he is doing all the time! It made his first week so much easier- and they said he did great for his first time! Taking 30-40 min nap and drinking his bottles great! Nolan also started just in time to take his first school photos! They turned out so cute!

We have been working on getting Nolan in his crib more as well, and it is quite the challenge! He will take little short naps at home in his crib, even though we know he needs to sleep more! If he's in the crib, he will nap maybe 20 min, in the car seat, he'd nap for hours! We have been typically starting Nolan out in the crib at night, nursing him around 8:30 or so than then lying him int he crib (I try sticking a rolled up blanket on both sides and under his legs (to replicate the Rock n Play) and he will then typically wake up between 10:45 and 12AM and then we try to get back him the crib, finally give out and let him sleep the rest of night in the Rock N Play (he still will wake up every 2-3 hours). I have decided he is a terrible sleeper! :) But sure makes up for it with how cute and smily he is! Our goal for 5 months is the whole night in the crib! We will see!

Nolan also rolled over for the first time from his back to his tummy at about 3.5 months old! Such a strong boy! He also loves bringing his feet up towards his month, and loves having his legs flexed up! Almost constantly doing a reverse sit up! He is bringing blankets and toys to his mouth all the time, and can hold rattles and small toys for a bit! He also sat on his own for about 10 sec, in a tripod like position! And has continued to do circles on his belly! We will put him down and sometimes he will be 180 degrees in a few minutes!

We have been taking advantage of our beautiful spring weather in April with lots of stroller rides,  picnics, bike rides, and playing at the park! I sure home Nolan will start to love being outside as much as Lucas does!! Cant wait to see what the next month has in store for Nolan and all the new milestones (as well as eating real food!) :)
