The Irelands: 6 months and First tooth!

6 Months old and won't smile big! - probably due to the tooth!

1 week old!

Well, we have a 6 month old! Little Lucas is already a 1/2 year old. I can't believe it, where does the time go? I feel like we were just bringing home our sleepy little newborn from the hospital! He has grown so much in such a short time in so many ways! It is amazing!

Once again, a lot has happened in month! from 5-6 months:

-Lucas had a case of eczema which looked like a pretty nasty rash all over his legs, belly, and back, it disappeared completely once we switched back to dreft detergent and started using aquaphor! He also saw a specialist at Children's Hospital ENT specialty center for his chronic congestion -- the MD did a scope down his nose and found his adenoids were a little large and his airway slightly small, but otherwise nothing to be concerned with - just keeping sucking his nose out and using saline! He said he might have to have his adenoid removed when he is a year if it continues. He will have his 6 month well baby check up this week!

-I took Lucas and fenton up to Grand Forks for the weekend for his little cousin's Carters first birthday! He had a rough time driving there since he surprised day care and took a 2 hour long nap right before our long drive! Ufta, talk about tough car ride with an upset baby! It was worth it though because we had such a fun trip! We celebrated Carter's birthday, got to see his older cousin Logan's ice skating show, and Lucas had his first haircut from his great auntie Kathie! He did so good for his haircut and he looked so much older!

-Grandma Ferol came to play with Lucas for a weekend because Tim and I both had to work, he did great and so did she! He loved playing with her and was all smiles when they were together! We are so thankful she could make it here for the weekend and hope to see her back soon!

-He has started almost all of the step 1 baby foods, carrots, peas, green beans, squash, sweet potatoes, pears, bananas! His favorites so far are the peas, beans, and pears! Not a big fan of the nanners yet!

-One of his new favorite activities is to suck on his little toes! He also loves rolling to his belly, but doesn't really like it once he is there, and still hasnt quite figured out how to roll back to his back from his belly! He also LOVES to sit. He can sit unsupported for 30 min until he just gets sick of that position, he doesn't even wobble anymore! He also has a new found love for the exersaucer and now hates his bumbo chair.

-Sleeping has significantly declined! And I recently figured out why... as of lately he is up at 1 or 2 am crying or just fussing and will not go back to sleep, we tried waiting it out 5-10min, but nothing changed, we used to be able to just pat his butt and he'd go back to sleep, not anymore...he now fights us if we put on his back or his side, he wants to sleep on his tummy now! I think most of the decline in sleeping in due to the fact that a few little teeth have been working their way to the surface and one popped out on my birthday yesterday! So tonight I'm going to try a little tylenol - we hasn't had a fever or anything so we haven;t ever had to give him Tylenol yet

-Lcuas also had his 6 month photos last week, I am so excited to see what they look like, he didn't cry once! Although the little stinker smiled, he didn't give us his huge belly smile/laugh during the whole photo shoot, but thats okay!

-Despite the lack of the sleep, he is still the sweetest little boy we could ask for. He talks to his stuffed giraffe, giggles at fenton playing, cuddles with mommy and daddy, he is ticklish all over and he continues to be such a little smiley baby (even with teething!) We cannot wait for spring to get here - poor little baby has really never seen the outside! It will be so fun to get him outside for stroller rides once the weather finally turns around!
