Lucas turned 1 month on October 14th! I can't believe how fast this first month has gone and he is already changing so much! He is definitely becoming quite the little chunk and his expressions are so much more animated! In his first month Lucas has found his thumb and sucked it for a few minutes, rolled over to his side, grew out of all his newborn clothes, and he has began to smile (especially when falling asleep), I even heard him giggle a little bit yesterday! He also follows black and white objects, loves being carried in baby carriers (the baby bjorn and ergo carrier) and is beginning to really like tummy time! He can hold his head up for about 5 seconds or so at a time (when he is in the mood!). He has also been on his first road trip, went to church, met all his grandparents and great grandma! We also decided when he turned 1 month to try sleeping in his own room in his big crib as he has been sleeping in his bassinet and rock n play sleeper in our room (and he sleeps really well - 4-5 hours a time before we wake him up to eat!) We swaddled him up tight and gave it a shot--- he was able to sleep for 3 hours at a time before waking up the first night which isnt too bad but we weren't used to him actually waking up on his own- we will see how it goes after this! During the day Lucas has been a little gassy and fussy and it seems like his belly just hurts so much from the gas, so we tried some gas relief gripe water over the weekend - we think it might have done the trick!
I am hoping to show how much he grows each month using a blanket that a family friend quilted with his name on it! She just finished it and we will hopefully have it when he turns 2 months! We have been using the letters on his wall - so now we won't have to take those down every time we take a photo! I can't wait to see what the quilt looks like - I am sure its beautiful! We will also use the cute little bear to show progress!!
